Your North Node in the Second House

Karma: Complex enmeshment
Soul mission: Security from within

North Node in the second house is your life purpose and soul mission, according to karmic astrology. The second house symbolizes the AREAS of LIFE and LIFE ISSUES to explore throughout your life.

Karmic astrology is a spiritual approach to astrology. I've created THREE STEPS to living your life purpose, outlined below.

If you want to go deeper, book a private karmic astrology session with me. I work with people who sincerely want to live a life with purpose, awakening their heart and working with their soul instead of struggling against it.

Step one: Appreciate your eighth house savvy

You have many dramatic past life experiences including power struggles around sex, death and money.

The first step in claiming your North Node in the second house is to embody the highest expression of the eighth house (opposite to the second). The eighth house represents your karmic past. So definitely appreciate — but! Don't make eighth house issues the centre of your life.

So celebrate your understanding of sexuality, and how you magically attract financial and intimate assistance from others. Appreciate your skill at managing estates, and navigating the complex, murky waters of legacies, trusts and contracts. Use your forensic level research skill and investigation to piece together mysteries.

Study the eighth house to understand its highest potential, and choose to live that, holding these life issues ever so lightly.

To live a life with purpose: this is your first step.

Step two: Own your eighth house karma

Experienced struggles around sex? A traumatic experience that changed you? Complex inheritance, or finance issues? These could be karmic.

With a North Node in the second house, your karma is played out in the arena of of intimate exchange with others. Have you created painful enmeshments with others, feeling like you have lost yourself in the process?

Your karma stems from your repeated participation in complex financial or intimate interactions, and your abuse of power during these exchanges. You may have witnessed (or perpetrated) death or abuse. You may have witness transformational spiritual re-births in yourself or others.

In past lifetimes, you were absorbed into other people's dramas, and this is how you defined yourself. You might have been a psychiatrist, detective, a magician, a financial advisor, a CEO, a mortician, a prostitute, a sex addict, or someone who has abused power or betrayed others. You may have been involved in war or witchcraft

The eighth house also represents karmic projections, or the people we attract to show us who we’ve been in past lifetimes. Notice the challenging people in your life, especially those that create drama. These are clues that you may have created this person, to show you who you’ve been.

The shadow side of the eighth house has to do with attracting complex life experiences of others “stuff” instead of creating your life through the seeds of your own efforts and desires.

Step three: Explore second house life issues

Ask: Is this important to me? Understand the meaning of money in your life, balanced with spirit. Explore ways to experience sensuality.

A North Node in the second house involves exploring opinions and decisions deeply tied to your own values, not someone else's. This includes questions about how you earn money and discovering your natural gifts and talents. It also involves questions about how you feel about borrowing, lending and ownership.

No matter how foreign this sounds to you, these are the life issues to explore over the course of your lifetime. In past lifetimes immersed in the 8th house, you were a slave to others rules, values and ideas. North Node in the second house is about exploring questions around self sufficiency, and the benefits you experience from material things, created by your own efforts and your own inner resources.

Make it a priority to create a life of self sufficiency and comfort on your terms, before choosing a relationship partner. I say this, because your tendency may be to get too entrenched in others complex, messy material affairs. This time, you’re to create and live what’s important to you.

North Node in the second house supports you living your values (take it or leave it). So, don’t shy away from stating who you are. Ask others to meet you where you are, not the other way around (with reasonable compromise of course). Trust your inner knowing on where to go to find your soulmate (or ideal career!), and know that a relationship that supports your newfound values is a part of your path.

Embody the essence of your soul mission sign as you define what material possessions, and comforts mean to you: this is the key.
