Your North Node in the First House

Karma: Reliance on partnership
Soul mission: Your authentic self

North Node in the first house is your life purpose and soul mission, according to karmic astrology. The first house symbolizes the AREAS of LIFE and LIFE ISSUES to explore throughout your life.

Karmic astrology is a spiritual approach to astrology. I've created THREE STEPS to living your life purpose, outlined below.

If you want to go deeper, book a private karmic astrology session with me. I work with people who sincerely want to live a life with purpose, awakening their heart and working with their soul instead of struggling against it.

Step one: Appreciate your seventh house savvy

You have many past life “partnership” experiences in marriage (divorce?) and business, possibly in the public eye.

The first step in claiming your North Node in the first house is to embody the highest expression of the seventh house (opposite to the first). The seventh house represents your karmic past. So definitely appreciate — but! Don't make seventh house issues the centre of your life.

Celebrate your deep understanding of partnerships of all kinds. Marriage (including how and why it ended) and business alike. Collaborate. Learn the ways to forgiveness when there's a falling out. Joyfully share with others what relationships mean to you. If they’re alive, cultivate a relationship with your grandparents, or understand the role they’ve played in you and your partner's life.

Study the seventh house to understand its highest potential, and choose to live that, holding these life issues ever so lightly.

To live a life with purpose: this is your first step.

Step two: Own your seventh house karma

Experienced divorce? A falling out of a business partnership? Loved ones turning to enemies? Court battles? These could be karmic.

With a North Node in the first house, your karma is played out in the arena of relationships, marriage and business partnerships. Have you created painful situations due to your own indecisiveness, ambivalence or denying you have needs? Have you not asked for what you want because you fear rejection and being seen as a “bad” person? Bingo!

In past lifetimes, you defined yourself, based on your relationships. You might have been a judge, a relationship junkie, a socialite, or someone who found it difficult to work or live alone. You may feel incomplete when not in a relationship.

The seventh house also represents karmic projections, or the people we attract to show us who we’ve been in past lifetimes. Notice the challenging people in your life, especially those that evoke strong emotions in you. These are clues that you may have created this person, to show you who you’ve been.

The shadow side of the seventh house has to do with making relationship issues the focus of your life, instead of exploring issues around Self.

Step three: Explore first house life issues

Commit to your authentic self. Get a makeover! You're being re-born...

A North Node in the first house may compel you to explore life issues around your birth and early childhood, how you personally define yourself, and your individual identity separate from others. There’s also a health component, as it relates to your personal energy.

No matter how foreign this sounds to you, these are the life issues to explore over the course of your lifetime. Questions around self-awareness, individuality, self expression and outward personality (and facades) are included here, as well as personal appearance and how you ‘market’ yourself to the world. It also encompasses how you take action, and take risks.

Have you attracted situations where you’ve been asked to lead? Don’t shy away from this, it’s a first house opportunity. And this may be how your soulmate (or ideal employer!) notices you. Whether or not you choose visible leadership, they will be drawn to your authentic self, stripped of any façade.

More than any other, the North Node in the first house supports you taking the initiative. So, get on the internet! Join a social network! Ask that cute guy or gal out! Take that leap! Trust your instincts on where to go next in life, and know that putting your true self out there is how you'll grow.

Embody the essence of your soul mission sign as your true Self is being re-invented and re-born: this is the key.
