Your North Node in the Fourth House

Karma: Public reputation
Soul mission: Home and family

North Node in the fourth house is your life purpose and soul mission, according to karmic astrology. The fourth house symbolizes the AREAS of LIFE and LIFE ISSUES to explore throughout your life.

Karmic astrology is a spiritual approach to astrology. I've created THREE STEPS to living your life purpose, outlined below.

If you want to go deeper, book a private karmic astrology session with me. I work with people who sincerely want to live a life with purpose, awakening their heart and working with their soul instead of struggling against it.

Step one: Appreciate your tenth house savvy

You have many past life experiences around business, government, the public eye and a promiment career, with honors.

The first step in claiming your North Node in the fourth house is to embody the highest expression of the tenth house (opposite to the fourth). The tenth house represents your karmic past. So definitely appreciate — but! Don't make tenth house issues the centre of your life.

So celebrate your keen desire for solid reputation. Take on public positions, if your heart desires. Have ambitions and create a step-by-step plan to accomplish them. Influence policy, use your influence to help others. Graciously accept honours, if you receive them.

Study the tenth house to understand its highest potential, and choose to live that, holding these life issues ever so lightly.

To live a life with purpose: this is your first step.

Step two: Own your tenth house karma

Professional drama? A public attack? Tarnished reputation? Loss of a prestigious position? Dad issues? These could be karmic.

With a North Node in the fourth house, your karma stems from the pursuit of dignity and status at the expense of your family and relationships. Has a professional reputation been more important to you than your family? Do you have issues with authority figures? Do you think you’d be better at making the rules? Have you been throwing yourself into your career, ignoring your personal life?

In past lifetimes, your public title and position was everything and you spent many lifetimes exploring this area of life. You might have been a CEO, a government official, a commander, a powerful administrator, or a church leader. You may have established or enforced policy, or left a legacy.

If this isn’t you, have you attracted (or do you have strong feelings about) people who pursue influence and fame at the expense of their families? Who are consumed with their reputation, but have a blind spot at home? Who are obsessed with the rules, but ignore emotion? There’s your clue!

The shadow side of the tenth house has to do with being obsessed with position and influence, at the expense of nurturing your emotional and family life.

Step three: Explore fourth house life issues

Create a beautiful home. Understand your childhood. Heal your family. Nurture and build emotional security.

North Node in the fourth house life issues include early childhood experiences (especially mom), family traditions, and the karmic reasons we chose our parents. It’s also finding self-sufficiency outside of your birth family, and what your physical home needs to be. It’s about creating emotional foundations inside, upon which all else is built.

No matter how foreign this sounds to you, these are the life issues to explore over the course of your lifetime. Questions around your emotional responses, psychology, and what home, tradition and family mean to you are included here, as well as property, real estate, and your roots and origins. The fourth house also encompasses important endings, what you are sentimental about, and your thoughts on personal privacy.

Make understanding your family origins a priority, before having a family of your own, if you have the North Node in the fourth house. I say this, because this soul mission might be tempted to choose a partner solely for status, or what might look good publicly – which would be a disaster.

North Node in the fourth house asks that you create a physical home where you can truly be yourself. When you’ve made that emotional shift, it will act as an attraction point for your soulmate relationship and other abundant experiences.

Embody the essence of your soul mission sign as you explore your origins and create your new home: this is the key.
