Your North Node in the Eighth House

Karma: Materialism, rigid values
Soul mission: Intense transformation

North Node in the eighth house is your life purpose and soul mission, according to karmic astrology. The eighth house symbolizes the AREAS of LIFE and LIFE ISSUES to explore throughout your life.

Karmic astrology is a spiritual approach to astrology. I've created THREE STEPS to living your life purpose, outlined below.

If you want to go deeper, book a private karmic astrology session with me. I work with people who sincerely want to live a life with purpose, awakening their heart and working with their soul instead of struggling against it.

Step one: Appreciate your second house savvy

You have many past life experiences accumulating material things and managing the resources that you’ve earned, your way.

The first step in claiming your North Node in the eighth house is to embody the highest expression of the second house (opposite to the eighth). The second house represents your karmic past. So definitely appreciate — but! Don't make second house issues the centre of your life.

Celebrate your unshakable knowing of the things you desire, and the things you enjoy. Revel in your sensual nature, love of comfort and beauty and ability to create security on every level. Love your garden. Enjoy working toward your goals and be happy that you are self-reliant. Be patient and create stability, and invest or manage your own money.

Study the second house to understand its highest potential, and choose to live that, holding these life issues ever so lightly.

To live a life with purpose: this is your first step.

Step two: Own your second house karma

Careful of getting stuck in your own view of the world, holding on to relationships and things that no longer serve you.

With a North Node in the eighth house, your karma stems from your tendency to value yourself, based on what you own and what you earn. If you abhor or attract money-hungry or possessive people, this is a clue to who you’ve been. In this lifetime, you are to let go of your materialistic life lens and begin relating to others. You’ll learn the true meaning of power: which has nothing to do with what you own.

In past lifetimes, you might have been a banker, a farmer, a builder or a land-owner. You might have been a landlord or an oil baron, or someone who had accumulated wealth, and became attached to his or her possessions. Have you used your sensuality or money to manipulate or control others (or encountered someone like this)? There’s your clue!

A North Node in the eighth house also represents karmic projections, or the people we attract to show us who we’ve been in past lifetimes. Notice the challenging people in your life, especially those that evoke strong emotions in you. These are clues that this person is here to show you who you’ve been.

The shadow side of the second house has to do with an overdeveloped need to possess, plus staying stuck in old ideas that prevent growth.

Step three: Explore eighth house life issues

Explore true power through intimate interactions with others. Heal traumatic past life death experiences.

North Node in the eighth house life issues involve power, money, sex and the (often) complex interactions you have with other people. This includes shared resources, hidden assets, wills, estates, inheritances, investors, legacies and joint assets plus the assistance you receive from others.

No matter how foreign this sounds to you, these are the life issues to explore over the course of your lifetime. Questions around intense transformational experiences, spiritual regeneration (the Phoenix rising from the ashes), and any fears or phobias based on the events that led to your death in past lifetimes are included here. This may involve deep research into understanding yourself, and how you have used (or mis-used) power.

In very rare cases, transformation may be catalyzed by a traumatic experience, abuse or experiencing the death of a loved one.

In past second house focused lifetimes, you went your own way and mastered possession on every level. With an 8th house north node, your experience will involve exchanges with other people. Whether through marriage, or other complex interactions, you are experiencing other people’s value systems, so that one by one, you can free yourself from your own rigidity.

Open yourself to other ways of seeing the world, other ways to manage money and explore true intimacy before choosing a life partner. I say this, because if you choose based on money or your deeply entrenched value system, you may create a situation of chaos and material loss to plunge you into the transformational process.

Having said that, an eighth house North Node is all about creating beneficial exchanges with another. Not through power struggle, but through the depths of true intimacy. Know it: if you're prepared to let go and go deep, you are definitely here to experience a soulmate relationship.

Embody the essence of your soul mission sign as your heart and your soul lets go, and is re-born: this is the key.
